Call to Arms & Night of Death

January 29, 2009

Well, it seems the news about todays announcement was true and they are still coming. To start off the announcements, we get one that almost everyone has been waiting for. The Slayer and Choppa, along with announcements about the Night of Death event and the new content expansion called Land of the Dead. The news and comments after the break.

First we will start off with the herald announcement:

As announced in the newsletter, we are excited to bring you news of the latest additions to the Armies of WAR!

Choppa Slayer
For uncounted centuries, the Dwarfs and greenskins have been the most bitter of rivals. Now that the Slayer and the Choppa are set to join the armies of Order and Destruction, old grudges will be answered and ancient enmities will be given new breath. Though the outcome of the war still hangs in the balance, one thing is certain: the battle for the Warhammer world is about to become deadlier than ever!

Once the Bitter Rivals live event begins this March, take part in daily challenges to earn a head start in the two awesome new careers.

This exciting news and more is described in detail in this month’s Newsletter, but here’s a sneak peek of what’s to come:

Read this morning’s Press Release for even more info!

Now, I do have to say all this sounds great. The two classes seem like a fresh addition to the game, including the Choppa which will be the first and only two-handed MDPS for Destruction. I’ll surely be rolling one. Second is the live expansion of the game related to the Tomb Kings, new content, and the Darkness Falls like gameplay. Now I have never played DAoC longer than maybe 5-6 hours and level 10, but from what I hear from guildies, its a system where you PVP to gain access to new PVE content, and have to constantly be on-guard. Along with the exact same statement from Mythic, I am greatly looking forward to this and the immense fun this could be. Hopefully its as great as its hyped up to be. Along with all this, is the Twisting Tower Scenerio that will only be available for the Live Event. I love these new scenerios. Reikland Factory was great, and from what I am reading about this scenerio, I think this one can be just as good, if not better. Mythic should really release these as 40 only scenerios or even for everyone. People love these and having them only for an event kind of sucks.
Last but no least for the initial announcements is the Night of Death Live Event. This seems to be taking place during Valentines, so I guess Warhammer has turned a holding of cards, hearts, love, and money-gimmicks, into a day of death, bloodlust, killing, and Witch Elves. I dunno about you, but it sure does sound fun.
